Hello, I am Salih, a faculty in Mechanical Engineering Department, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvanathapuram. I was born in a small place called Vaadiyil (a part of the Thekkepuram Community) located in the heart of Calicut city, a beautiful coastal area in northern Kerala, India. My house was just a couple of minutes walk away from the sea shore...I grew up by listening the majestic music of Arabian sea...

Profession

I am an Engineer by qualification and a Teacher by profession. My professional life started with Crompton Greaves Hydro Division, Chandigarh, a company involved in design and manufacturing of mini and micro hydroelectric power plants. I fondly remember two nice gentlemen there, Dr. Kuldip Singh and Dr. Avtar Singh who were my superiors and mentors. It was a nice experience with so many great friends (Kishore Pakkal, Girish Muley, Devinnder Chandrawath, etc.) to work along. After about two and half years of stint there I left the company with a heavy heart due to some personal compulsions.

Immediately after leaving Crompton, I joined NIT, Tiruchirappalli as faculty in Mechanical Engineering in September 1991. A complete turn around from industry to academics. Left NIT Trichy in 2008 and joined IIST, Thiruvananthapuram. Right now I am enjoying my teaching career... dgdgdgdg dgdgdgghgt gtfdsadg gdgdgdgd hsgjwfrh dnhwfeg
